Lamprobe post-treatment home care instructions at Elite Skin and Body Care Houston

The Lamprobe uses precise radiofrequency technology to instantly treat minor skin irregularities — including skin tags, cherry angiomas, milia, cholesterol deposits, fibromas, and broken capillaries — in just seconds per lesion. At Elite Skin & Body Care in Houston, this non-invasive treatment is popular for removing small imperfections without downtime. How you care for the treated area over the next two to three weeks determines how smoothly it heals.

Following Lamprobe treatments, the treated areas may feel irritated and display redness. A scab or crust may form over the area as it heals — this is completely normal and a necessary part of the skin's repair process.

Post-Treatment Home Care Instructions

  1. Be cautious with scabs. Do NOT pick, scratch, or prematurely remove scabs to prevent skin damage such as hyperpigmentation or scarring.

  2. Apply an anti-bacterial ointment or powder the evening following treatment if irritation persists in the treated areas.

  3. Protect with a bandage if friction can cause irritation to the treated area.

  4. Avoid touching or washing the treated area for 24 hours.

  5. Keep treated areas dry for the first 24–48 hours post treatment.

  6. Avoid direct sunlight on treated areas and use sun protection if the sun is unavoidable.

  7. Use a minimum 30 SPF sun protection every day, all year round.

  8. Use mild, non-stimulating cleansing products for washing.

  9. Pat skin dry rather than rubbing to prevent premature removal of scabs and irritation of the treated areas.

  10. Apply mineral/remedial makeup only post treatment. Avoid use of all other makeup on the treated area for 24 hours following treatment.

  11. Avoid peeling and other forms of exfoliation or bleaching products for a minimum of 21 days following Lamprobe treatment.

Why Proper Aftercare Matters

Because the Lamprobe uses a precise radiofrequency pulse to dehydrate and disrupt the treated lesion, the body naturally forms a small crust as it heals. This scab is essentially the skin's own bandage — disturbing it prematurely (through picking, exfoliation, aggressive cleansing, or friction) exposes fresh, unhealed tissue and significantly increases the risk of both permanent pigmentation changes and scarring.

The 21-day waiting period before resuming exfoliation or bleaching products is conservative but well worth it. Skin that has been allowed to fully close and normalize tends to blend seamlessly with surrounding tissue.

Q&A

What can the Lamprobe treat, and how long does healing take?

The Lamprobe treats skin tags, cherry angiomas, milia, cholesterol deposits, fibromas, and broken capillaries — not active acne or deep cystic lesions. Most minor irregularities heal within 7-14 days.

When can I wear makeup again after Lamprobe?

Avoid all other makeup on the treated area for the first 24 hours. After that, only mineral or remedial makeup should be used until scabs have fully healed.

Can I pick or remove the scabs after Lamprobe treatment?

Do NOT pick, scratch, or prematurely remove scabs. Premature removal can cause hyperpigmentation or scarring. Let scabs fall off naturally as part of normal healing.

How long should I avoid exfoliation after my Lamprobe treatment?

Avoid peeling, other forms of exfoliation, and bleaching products for a minimum of 21 days after your Lamprobe treatment to protect healing skin and prevent pigmentation changes.
