Brow lamination pre and post care guide at Elite Skin and Body Care Houston

Brow lamination is the secret behind full, fluffy, perfectly-brushed brows that stay exactly where you put them. At Elite Skin & Body Care in Houston, this popular service reshapes your natural brow hairs into a uniform, lifted position for about 6 weeks per treatment — but only with proper care before and after your appointment.

Pre-Service Care

Prior to your brow lamination appointment, we recommend the following:

  • Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs on your face for one to two weeks before your brow lamination.

  • Avoid tweezing at least one week prior to your appointment. If shaping is needed, we offer the option to add on a brow wax to your lamination appointment.

  • Please come to your appointment without any makeup on your face.

Treatment Aftercare

  • Avoid contact with water and steam for 24 hours after the procedure.

  • Do not injure or rub the eyebrows for 24 hours after the procedure.

  • Avoid aggressive cosmetic treatment (scrubs, peels, alcohol-containing products).

  • Do not use lotions, toners, creams, or makeup remover in the eyebrow area for 48 hours after the procedure.

  • Do not have any type of permanent or semi-permanent makeup done while your hair is still lifted — your artist must be able to see the natural direction of the hair.

  • Don't sleep directly on your brows (we know — easier said than done for our stomach sleepers!).

How Long Does a Brow Lamination Last?

A brow lamination will last about 6 weeks (again, depending on aftercare). Be sure to follow the "don'ts" mentioned above in the first 24 hours following your treatment for longevity.

In the 48 hours following your treatment, you can apply a hydrating balm or castor oil to your brows daily. We also recommend brushing your brows in an upright/styled position anytime following a shower (or after getting your brows wet) to help keep their new shape.

Why the First 24 Hours Matter So Much

The lamination process uses a two-step solution to gently reshape the bond within each brow hair so it holds a new direction. For the first 24 hours, those bonds are still setting — water, steam, friction, and heavy products can disrupt the reshape and leave you with uneven results. Treat your brows like a delicate new hairstyle during this window, and they'll reward you with weeks of effortlessly polished shape.

Q&A

How long does a brow lamination last?

A brow lamination lasts about 6 weeks, depending on how closely you follow aftercare. Avoid water, steam, and cosmetic exfoliants during the first 24 hours for the longest-lasting results.

What can't I do in the first 24 hours after brow lamination?

For 24 hours: no water, no steam, no rubbing, no lotions or creams in the brow area. Avoid aggressive treatments (scrubs, peels, alcohol products). Don't sleep directly on your brows.

What should I do to prepare for my brow lamination?

Avoid exfoliants, retinoids, and AHAs for 1-2 weeks prior. Skip tweezing for at least one week before (we offer a brow wax add-on if shaping is needed), and come to your appointment without any makeup on your face.

How do I maintain my brow lamination results at home?

After 48 hours, apply a hydrating balm or castor oil daily to your brows. Brush them into an upright, styled position after showering or getting them wet to maintain their new shape.
